Biogas is an environmentally friendly fuel because it reduces greenhouse gas emissions and our reliance on fossil fuels. It is produced by the decomposition of organic matter and is thus an efficient method of disposing of organic waste.
Biogas is economically viable as it increases income
Biogas is economically viable as it increases income of the rural households by around Rs. 10000/-per month in terms of replacement cost of LPG or other sources that they were using before development of biogas besides production of organic manure for boosting agricultural productivity.
